41. A few years ago, CSPAN showed a hearing in Los Angeles on the .
affects of both legal and illegal immigration in the neighborhoods of of LA, ie., Watts, Compton, etc. Neighborhoods and the citizens who were were struggling to maintain the value of their homes, schools, neighborhoods and having to contend with the influx of immigrant cultures who were intent on keeping and killing chickens in their front yards, drying their wash on their front fences, collecting junked cars on the streets and yards......all which were acceptable within their homelands. A long time, well spoken resident (African American), elderly man, questioned the panel on which Jackson Lee was a member, on what could be done to protect their neighborhoods from becoming the slums and garbage pits found in many South American Countries? I was dumbfounded when Sheila Jackson Lee, berated and belittled him for demeaning his neighbors???? He did nothing of the kind, he was only asking for help or answers and she apparently didn't have the time so she simply demeaned him on national TV. It made me more aware of how arrogant she truly is. Barbara Jordan she is not!
