I find that he, like many, many adults in this present day 'murka' are tired of having someone's flavor of religion constantly flown in their faces every where they look.

What he gets, which most 'murkins' don't get, is that his country of origin's history went through centuries of religious persecution--and the persecuting was being done by those who basically believed in the same person. Those who prefer pagentry burned those who prefered no intervention from a middle-man. For centuries. 'Murkin' xtians whine and cry all day long about being so persecuted, but there is nothing and no one dragging them out of their homes and tying them to a stake and a bunch of kindling and setting them on fire. To them, their persecution is that they can't control the laws to the point where only their point of view is legitimized.

His eloquence is not vanity. Like I said, that it is over your head is yours to own, not his or anyone else's.
