120. Just voted, for the first time ever
Edited on Tue Nov-07-06 11:07 AM by W_HAMILTON
I wanted to vote in 2004, but found out the time to register had passed, so I wasn't allowed.

But I got to this time! It's a rainy day, in Northeast SC. Since it was my first time, I don't have much to compare it to. It was mainly a bunch of older folks, mixed in with a younger person here and there. One young woman was turned away because they said she didn't register in time, either.

One of the bright spots was the person I signed up with in my name bracket. She was the youngest up there. I told her it was my first time voting, and she said that that was great, and that more young people should come out and vote. I took that as codewords to mean that maybe she was a fellow Democrat as well.

Went up to vote, finished in less than a minute. I already knew all the amendments, and since I voted straight Democratic, it took no time at all. Made sure to hit the blinking red VOTE! button, and it said my ballot was cast.

Overall, pretty satisfied. Plan on wearing my "I VOTED" sticker on my work uniform :) I gotta work tonight, but I hope to hear some good results when I get home!

SWEEP 'EM OUT!

EDIT: Oh yeah, it took maybe 15-20 minutes total from when I arrived to when I left. Most of that was spent waiting for people to finish with the machines (there were only 6). The 7th was broken. I heard one of the poll workers call in about it, and she mentioned to another poll worker that they had a list of broken-down machines, and would get to it when they could.......
