afford the people of this country to see what they were doing.

Pictures made the difference with the Viet Nam war. They are not going to make that mistake again.

edit: To remark that since they have old Henry Kissinger (that old monster) to guide them in their war crimes, they'll successfully hide a lot of things from the American people.
