3. The best food in town
is at a combination Vietnamese restaurant and car inspection station and it's right in my neighborhood so I don't have to go far. The ambience is a little rough but the food is divine. I also get my car inspected there.

The same went for my last neighborhood in Boston, a natural foods/seafood restaurant that was superb and only a 10 minute walk. It was expensive, so I reserved it for my birthday and other celebrations.

I joked about celebrating my 40th birthday by flying to Paris for dinner, only I got pneumonia instead.

I do travel about 120 miles for apple cider in the fall, but that's only because it's a roadside stand on the way home from the Wool Festival in Taos.

The rest of the time I do my own cooking and I pretty much eat to live. The days of eating junk to try to make myself feel better are over. My days of traveling without intending to spend at least 2 weeks on the ground are LONG over.
