12. That's not true at all
Yankees, according to ESPN, have a payroll of $183 million dollars. That doesn't include the $12 million a year they receive from the Rangers for A-Rod's contract, so they're really paying more like $170 million. The Sox have a payroll this season of $125 million. The Orioles and Blue Jays are both over $50 million, and the Rays are now over $30 million with the Crawford signing. So the rest of the division is around $255 million.

Also, the idea that baseball isn't fair is nonsense. The Yankees haven't won since 2000. Small budget teams like the A's, the Twins, the Marlins, etc, consistently make the playoffs.
