10. Might I refer you to the DU rules?
From the http://www.democraticunderground.com/forums/rules.html">basic rules:
3. Civility: Treat other members with respect. Do not post personal attacks against other members of this discussion forum.

Going to the http://www.democraticunderground.com/forums/rules_detailed.html">detailed rules:
There are no exceptions to these civility rules. You cannot attack someone because they attacked you first, or because that person "deserved it," or because you think someone is a disruptor. We consider it a personal attack to call a liar a liar, to call a moron a moron, or to call a jerk a jerk.

If you look at the alert page, the first option clearly says:
Personal attacks, insults, name-calling, or questioning the character or motives of other DU members; discussing DU members rather than ideas.

If you think something is bigoted, alert on it, select the option which reads, "Insensitive (bigotry, hate, ridicule, stereotyping) toward certain groups of people." and any other categories you believe apply, and send the alert. If the mods agree, they'll delete the comment. If they don't agree, you can always ask why in the ATA forum.
