Not a terrible night. Perry didn’t do his opponents any obvious favors, such as when he suggested in the Sept. 22 debate that opposition to the in-state tuition plan was heartless. The problem for Perry last night was that he was often left out of the discussion, and when he was brought into the discussion, he failed to land solid blows.

It’s as if Perry has decided that debates are never going to go well, so he’s just going to try to survive them with as little damage inflicted as possible. Perry told a group of Dartmouth students after the debate that debates “are not my strong suit.”
Actually thinking is not Perry's strong suit either!
