The country is too fractured and bi-polar to agree on anything. Even a man of considerable charisma such as Obama couldn't pull his own party together.

I think we're at a point now where political majorities in the federal government mean very little and opinions and ambitions on the right and left have become so divisive that there is no reconciliation possible.

I favor a division of the union. Don't ask me the why's or how's because I simply don't know. I just know a division of this country into more manageable and agreeable regions would best serve the interests of the citizens in each respective part.
