He wasn't out discussing "cultural differences" with the locals. He went to his lttle school and came home.

Hawaii is probably more of a "foreign culture" to most Americans.

And as for your assertion, I'd say that John McCain's early years in Panama (he was born there), his port visits while serving at sea, to say nothing of his five and a half years undergoing torture at the Hanoi Hilton trump a few years at an Indonesian Infants School. Unless "surviving" doesn't qualify as "living." And McCain has been on no small number of CODELS. Obama needs a few more decades in the Senate to match the travel McCain has done.

There's lots to fault McCain on, but not having "foreign experience" isn't a charge that could possibly stick. I'd wager McCain's Vietnamese is better than Obama's Indonesian.
