A year or two before the last election, I remember my Mother-in-law telling me that, after all their hammering Clinton's "morals," they'd never be able to touch Gore because he was such a straight arrow.

By Nov of 2000, they had almost half of America believing Gore was a "serial liar"

I would never assume that they couldn't touch Kerry on the war issue--there are already letters appearing in the newspapers claiming that AWOL served his country more honorably than Kerry b/c he didn't criticize it like Kerry did.
