14. DU will be needed even more after a Dem is
elected president. What happened after Clinton got in following 12 years of Reagan and Bush I is that too many left leaning people breathed a sigh of relief and wrongly thought they had a friend in the White House. Little did they know how conservative Clinton was and how beholden to corporate interests he was.

Some people were thrown way off guard when Clinton and the Dems worked so hard for the passage of NAFTA and GATT. Clinton also appropriated Republican language and thought in 1996 when he pushed for welfare "reform" and booted a bunch of people off the rolls (didn't end poverty but who cares if the people are not claiming government benefits <extreme sarcasm>).

Oh yes, we will need to be vigilant. We will be the movement that keeps the candidate accountable. That is what the Republican base of evangelicals and libertarians do well. They actually hold their elected officials and leaders accountable.
