Actually, the WP article uses the word 'helped'--the people Kerry took money from are either 'employees' (who don't direct a company) or 'executives' from companies that 'helped' companies move offshore. So he didn't take money from executives who moved their company offshore, he took money from 'employees' or 'executives' from companies that 'helped' move a company offshore.

Looks like the article did exactly what it was intended to do in your case. It obfuscated the facts, and you interpreted it exactly the way the article intended you would.
