Everyone here wants to see Bush retired to his ranch, ASAP.

But there are also a lot of us who don't see that as the only goal.

You worked for DK, Will, you know what this is really about. So why do you contribute to the mindset that discoutrages actual political debate?

Bush is merely a symptom of the worst of a series of processes that the Democratic Party has also been a part of for many years. Too many of the Democrats in power have eitehr been AWOL or have become Republican Lite,

As a result, a victory in which the Democrats win by perpetuating the agenda that got us to this sorry point will also be a hollow one.

Wanting a change in the Democratic status quo is a perfectly valid goal, and does not have to be contrary to the goal of booting Bush. And believing we should be doing a lot more than being a cloudy mirror image of Bush is not the same as hoping for a Bush victory at all.
