Edwards will not get blown out. But he deserves our support. First, a little about me and what I think about all of this. I was originally a supporter of Howard “the dream” Dean. Although Dean did not make it a focal point of his campaign, he understands the need for a strong military defense. Whether you are a liberal, green party affiliate, socialist or whatever category you subscribe to, the fact of the matter is that Al-Qaeda doesn’t care. They want all of us dead because we were born in a country called America.
If Kerry gets the nomination, I’m afraid that the socialist utopia we are all planning our vacation schedule around, will be all but a pipe-dream leading to the city sewer. His senate voting record on military defense would have us holding the latest version of the toy cap gun when Al-Qaeda kicks in your door demanding your allegiance to Allah and asking to see your prayer rug. He voted against every military equipment advance of the modern era, including the stealth, the B2, the F16, the advanced fleet of subs that patrol our waters as well as the waters of our allies, and many others.
Don’t get me wrong, I know that our beloved Kerry holds our medical, dental, and prescription drug plans close to his heart. Hell, he and Teddy Kennedy practically share the same cerebrum. When Ted inhales, Kerry’s lungs expand. Kerry also loves children. He will ensure food on every table even if it is just nuts and berries. At least we will all be regular!
What is my point in all this you ask? As democrats, we all need to unite behind the candidacy of John “unite us” Edwards. Let me ask you this. Knowing the voting record of our friend John Kerry with regards to our military defense, if Osama were allowed to vote in this primary, which candidate do you think he would vote for? That scares me! It ought to scare the pants off you! As for me, I’m already sending money to Edwards. I’m also having my septic tank pumped just in case.
