Great flick. I was watching it last night, and I think the ending really signifies this whole Kerry/Edwards quandary in which Dean backers find themselves.

Beyond here be spoilers.

The movie's set around a bunch of real estate salesman working for Premiere Properties. Jack Lemmon is Shelly "The Machine" Levene, a local legend now living on past glories and old fumes. Al Pacino plays Ricky Roma, the hotshot. Ed Harris plays Dave Moss, the angry, bitter salesman, full of excuses as to why he's not selling. Alan Arkin is George Aaronow, a mealy-mouthed follower of Dave's. All of them with the exception of Ricky Roma are on horrible losing streaks, and Kevin Spacey plays their company man boss, John Williamson. The head office sends in Alec Baldwin, a guy named Blake, to get them to start selling by any means necessary. Blake leaves behind the Glengarry leads, the gold leads that will shake these salesmen out of their dumps. The next night, the Glengarry leads are found to be stolen. Levene comes in thinking he's made a garguantan sale and acts like a dick to Williamson. Finally, it's revealed that Shelly and Moss stole the Glengarry leads, and Levene is begging Williamson not to report him to the cops. Williamson's told Shelly about the people Levene sold so big to - they're nuts. Williamson, smirking and chewing gum, holds all the power. Trying to make the pitch of his life, finally Levene resorts to pleading.

Levene: Don't...
Williamson: Hehe...I'm sorry.
Levene: Why?
Williamson: Because I don't like you.
Levene: My daughter...
Williamson: Fuck you.

Later.
