No joke.

1. It will keep the media focused on the primaries for longer, giving both the party and the nominee some much needed free press on all the networks.

2. It will be more of a trial by fire for Kerry, allowing him to prove himself now so he will be more tested/prepared in football season. The same exact reason can be said for Edwards regarding Kerry.

3. It will make the voters in states that vote later feel like they count. I live in IL, and we vote the 18th of March, and I can empathize with my roommate, a Clark guy whose pissed he couldn't vote for the General (He will anyway). This will help encourage grassroot support and voter enthusiasm.

4. I like Edwards, and have absolutely no problem whatsoever supporting him in the fall. I just like Kerry more.
