21. Absolutely correct
McCain says 20,000 isn't enough, but he's playing the Repub base. He knows Bush can only fail, and he wants to be able to say "I told you so" to the people who think we're not doing enough. Political gamesmanship, pure and simple.

Clark is standing up to McCain and Bush and all the little neo-cons making the corporate media rounds (there was one little asshole on C-SPAN this morning that almost made me want to throw something thru the TV set).

In fact, Gordon Suber (big honcho in Eric Massa's N-29 campaign) has written a short essay called "2007: It's Clark v. McCain" at http://securingamerica.com/ccn/node/10411
Definitely worth the read, because right now, it's only Clark and McCain who are going toe to toe on the escalation. I'm thinking only Clark can take McCain down.
