That was my DU assessment of Kerry last February, after watching the Roe v. Wade anniversary dinner with our presidential candidates speaking as a group for the first time. Unfortunately, nothing has changed to alter my opinion.

Frankly, it really doesn't matter what DUers think of John Kerry. He will carry the base, as evidenced by virtually every primary.

Minus a personality tranfusion and a designated pinch-speaker, Kerry simply is not inspiring or likeable enough to sway enough key independents to defeat an incumbent with decent favorability ratings. We desperately needed someone with charisma resembling Clinton, not Gore.

Kerry will need every break regarding the economy and Iraq. Otherwise, I would peg Bush as a 2 to 3 point favorite.
