NFIB Launches Campaign To Secure Senate Action on Small-Business Health Plans
04/ 01/ 2004
The small-business group NFIB today called on the U.S. Senate to follow the lead of the U.S. House and pass legislation enacting Small-Business Health Plans (AHPs) prior to adjourning for the 2004 elections. NFIB President Jack Faris renewed the NFIB call to action during an event on Capitol Hill where Faris announced that NFIB members are launching a petition drive to mobilize the Senate to pass The Small-Business Health Fairness Act (S. 545). U.S. Secretary of Labor Elaine L. Chao along with Senate Small Business and Entrepreneurship Committee Chairwoman Olympia Snowe (Maine) and Sen. Jim Talent (Mo.), who sponsored S. 545, joined Faris at the event.
