This was small town Missouri and I don't have the direct quotes with me. But the gist of it was that these people were sure that Bush prays before every decision he makes and they feel more comfortable knowing that God is at the helm. So the threat that liberals are going to ban God may be a potent one. Another scare technique.
On Iraq: Yes, they are having a hard time right now, but it needs to be done.
What I find interesting about this year is that both sides think the other side is completely crazy.
Oh, and Jerry Fallwell came out and said that the Right Wing Christians now "own" the Republican Party. Interesting.
