were so closed-mouthed about their former mayor's "issues" before the 2006 governor's race. We had no idea she was like this, and nothing about her term as governor (at least as was reported in the press) gave us any reason to believe that she was anything other than a personable executive who was willing to work across party lines to accomplish her goals. The firing of Walt Monegan was really the first indication that something was terribly wrong. We have been as shocked as everyone else at the tone she has taken on the national stage.

Please don't assume that all Alaskans are like this. We are not, and everyone I've talked to lately is furious with Sarah for presenting this image of us to the outside world. She will pay when she comes back here.
