How would the out-sorcerers and laissez-fairies like Walter Williams* try to sell this one?

- Why should manufacturers continue to be burdened by paying for something they can get for free?

- We're in a global economy, so American workers really need to get over this outdated nonsense that they should be compensated for their efforts.

- Sure, it's slavery but, hey, they're provided with food, clothing and steady work which gives them a reason for living; otherwise, they'd probably starve to death.

- Slavery is a deceptive term; these people choose to work for free. You don't see any revolts, do you?


* I only single Williams out because he's the first economist (sic) to come to mind when it comes to defending the outsourcing trend.
