9. Not despair.
Just an awareness of one's limits.

Life is short, and one cannot spend all of it condemning
stupidity and base factionalism, there would be nothing
left for more productive pursuits.

Still, I can see where it would lead on to a certain
misanthropic attitude, and that could lead to despair if one
was hoping for better things from the human species.

And the truth is, there is little to say that does not boil
down to name-calling and the like. So, agreeing with Thumper,
sometimes it's better to say nothing at all.
