There is currently a discussion on the DNC blog about party unity and the ability to make room for dissent and diversity. There seems to be this big rush to "unite behind the nominee" well before the primary season is over.

I know there is much discussion about how "Bush must go, and nothing else matters". I've seen enough of that around lately, and I'm not buying it. Forced unity will not work. If the DNC is not willing to be responsive to a diverse party, it is doomed. Please consider joining in the discussions over there--especially if you are still planning to vote for someone other than Kerry in an upcoming primary.

There can be strength in our diversity, but not by silencing dissent.
