Is to just save it as whatever the default is
then open it after you save it
when you do that at the bottom of the screen will be the picture of a computer disk click that to "copy:"
in the COPY drop down screen it will give you the choice of what type of file you want to copy it to i.e

.jpeg
.gif
.bmp

etc

just click .Jpg
and your file that you downloaded as a BMP will now be saved a jpeg

piece of cake
remember to go back and erase the .bmp copy. a lot of us that save images have to do this if we cant save it as jpeg initially
