9. I always tell them I'm biased.
Because I am!!! I also used to be a court reporter.

The last time I was called, I went down there and I knew the judge and both lawyers (no problem with that -- no bias against them).

I told them I was biased against insurance companies, because I was sued for a declaratory judgment by one, which is true. They shut me up quickly and struck me from the venire (jury panel) for cause.

I also took a copy of "The Autobiography of Malcolm X" hoping that they would see that and think I was too radical.
