If you put both the genus (Salamandra) and species (salamandra) then you would just say "species"... and you get +10 points for knowing to only capitalize the genus! :D
You are way ahead of most of my ecology students. ;) I just meant, the whole genus Salamandra is across the pond from me.
I wonder why they're so intrigued by your doorstep? In any case, i'm sure they appreciate being relocated by you, rather than by a cat or a bird!
