A MAN was impaled through the groin on a tree branch after jumping from a football club balcony in Melbourne's east early yesterday.

The branch speared in through his groin and up to his abdomen, she said.

"He was very lucky because the branch did not hit any of his major internal organs," the spokeswoman said.
