10. yes! abso-frigging-lutely! I spent the first 28 years of my life in SoCal;

a good part of that not too far from Palm Springs, and it was just so bizarre to see all these people insist on lush, green lawns. My sister lived near Phoenix for a while - same damn thing. The soCal/dry/desert landscape is beautiful - muted greens, sage green-gray-silver, etc. Xeriscaped lawns are lovely, and soooo much easier to care for. Who the hell wants to fart around with sprinklers and huge water bills?
