11. OK. I'll play nice.
A couple of interesting wine tours you can take here in the good old US of A without ever touching California. You may be surprised at the quality of some of the wines you'll find.

Check out the Missouri Wine Trail (or road maybe, I forget). It includes around 90 wineries. Some are surprisingly good.

You can also enjoy some pleasant surprises in Arizona - of all places. You can start with Kokopelli Winery in Wilcox and continue to The Village of Elgin for some pleasant surprises. Their motto: "NAPA makes auto parts. Elgin makes wine."

Either one of these can provide you with some good -not great, yet - wines. They also have a knack for names that make for great conversation.
