I was hired to take pictures of him backstage after one of his performances back in the late 80's. When I was done, he said to me, "What about you? Don't you want your picture taken? Nobody ever takes a picture of the photographer. Give your camera to someone else and come over here!"
What a great guy! He was so kind and warm to everyone. Just like a favorite uncle or grandfather.  |
