Which means that I have to deal with just about every insurance company around.

In my experience, GEICO and State Farm are two of the best to deal with. They both seem fairly committed to resolving claims as quickly as possible with the least amount of inconvenience to their policy holders.

Allstate is just about as bad as they get. They're impossible to deal with, they drag their policy holders through a wringer if there's a claim (I've seen them try to depose comatose people who were *passengers* in the accident trying to prove any sort of fraud they possibly can) and their attorneys get paid to make more motions -- which, of course, slows down claims, bogs down the courts and makes for higher insurance policies. All because they don't like to pay on legit claims.

Just my experience anyway...
