2. Here's a good (personal) one:
As a musician, I have played my fair share of weddings. We had a gig booked in Summer '03, and it was called off two weeks before the ceremony because one of the participants was caught in a "compromising situation." Since it was so close to the ceremony date (less than 30 days), they had to pay us, the caterer, and the venue 50%. Fast forward to Spring '04, and the wedding is back on. Ten days before the ceremony, you guessed it: they canceled once again. So our band, the caterer, and the venue got paid 100% of our fees and never had to do anything!
