Germans (at least, in the old days) look down their noses at Bohemians as being provincial, backward hillbillies whose family trees don't have branches.

Of course, Bohemians tend to feel the same way about Germans, too.

My ex-wife is half German, half Bohemian, and it was a very big deal to her Bohemian grandfather when her mother married a German-- even though it was the 1950s and both families had lived in American for three generations.
