28. I'm glad it is not just me.
My husband thought it was odd although I have a thing for shoes myself. It is just all those tiny little shoes, they seem to build the child from the ground up in my imagination or recollection. My youngest son would never let me throw out his old shoes, I could have thrown out his brother before he would ever turn lose of his old shoes so perhaps that is part of it too. :shrug:
