They were fine. I think at the time, they used a remote lab.

My parents picked some gawd-awful frames, but the lenses were of good quality. (And we're surprised that young Pcat hated to wear her glasses?)

Just ask if there's a satisfaction guarantee. It can really suck getting a pair of frames you like for ten minutes but drive you nuts an hour later.
