9. It's an old dorm story
A girl is studying in the common room late one night, she has to go upstairs to get a book and notices the door to her room is unlocked. Since it's late, she figures her roommate came home and fell asleep without locking the door. She doesn't want to wake roommie so she kind of feels her way to her desk, in the dark, grabs the books she needs and heads back to the common room, where she falls asleep over her books. When she comes upstairs in the morning, there's crime tape over her door, the police are swarming and a bunch of girls crying. She breaks through the throng and finds a grisly scene: Her roommate's bed is a bloody mess from where her throad had been slashed. On the wall above, written in her roommate's blood, are the words, "Aren't you glad you didn't turn on the light?"

Scared the crap out of me as a college freshman!
