and the type of balding they've got. A man whose forehead is expanding often looks fine with a ponytail. A man with male pattern baldness usually looks bizarre with long hair (often looks too much like a monk's tonsure); they often look best with their hair kept fairly short. If the balding is patchy, then shaving it might be the best solution.

What doesn't work is fakery - toupees, spray-on hair, combovers. No one is fooled and you've spent a great deal of time and money making yourself look peculiar. I have yet to meet a woman who was as concerned about her husband or boyfriend balding as he was. It's what men do instead of worrying about how they look in a bikini, I suppose.

There's no one solution that works for every balding man.
