48. DU has enough voices to affect change,
I'm pretty new to DU, but I've noticed in my "lurking" that DU probably has 40K + voices. If that energy could be channeled away from "what HAS happened" and into what "should happen" I think great things could be accomplished. The current administration has a tremendous number of negative issues right out in the face of the american public. Dems seem to spend to much time trying to prove the faults of republicans, and not enough time displaying the advantages of a democratic Senate or House not to mention a sitting Democratic president.

The hard fact of the matter is that george bush will not be impeached, he will not step down and the elections of 00 and 04 are over. A simple calm conversation with almost anybody WILL produce results, anybody who is thinking clear can see the mess we are in. But holding the problems up, written in blood red ink and shoved down the throats of republicans as being THEIR FAULT will not result in a calm intelligent discussion. "you are wrong and I am right speeches" accomplish nothing, stable conversation without implying that because they voted for bush the world will now end will move Dems closer to their goals.
