I don't know why you would add a comment like "it may be your wish that liberalism die" which seems to be little by inflammatory. Of course I don't want liberalism to die, I want it to be very alive.

You talk about this stand against fascist republicans - but my point is, I haven't seen real liberalism be mainstream in American politics in my life time. The Democratic party hasn't seriously reflected a truly liberal platform since I've been alive. They are simply "better" than the alternative. When I think of "liberalism" I think of liberalism such as you would see in countries outside America I guess, as opposed to what I think we should start calling "American liberalism" or "liberalism-lite."

So you're talking about "winning" this victory as though "liberalism" is the norm in America and current events are just some sort of temporary variation. But I'm saying to you I haven't seen actual honest to god liberalism in power in Washington in my lifetime. So unless you see this "battle" as much larger and longer in scope, I'm not sure I share your optimism.
