It makes you wonder - what is the agenda of those who are so vehemently opposed to accepting this reality that they've categorized the realists as "doom and gloomers."

Peak Oil? Can't talk about that. Because there is no happy ending or pretty solution, it causes cognitive dissonance within the ranks of party-line thinkers.

9/11 Coverup? Can't talk about that either. When people collude to influence circumstances to their own benefit, it can only be on a small scale, otherwise it's a categorized as a "conspiracy", and thusly immediately dismissed.

People need to read, learn and think before they make reactionary statements about others; otherwise, they're no better than the Limbaughs and Coulters of the world.
