I was wrong about Bush.

I have been posting here for six months or so (as far as I can remember) and probably lean towards the conservative end of the DU spectrum. I have often run across comments to the effect of "Bush could have done so much more to prevent 9/11", at which I always scoffed. I have never been quick to embrace conspiracy theories as I perceive them, and I have been slow to accept just how bad the Bush administration really is. I think I gave them too much benefit of the doubt.

But after seeing all that is going on with the 9/11 commission, reading about the briefings that seemed to warn about al Qaeda using planes and the like, remembering how Bush did his best to stonewall the commission, etc, etc, etc, I have to admit, I was wrong. I defended Bush too much. I think there are probably a lot of Democrats like me who always thought he was a horrible president but who are amazed at just how horrible he is!

I hope we can send these people back to Texas where they belong. And here's to those at DU who were several steps ahead of the rest of us. :)
