Tape of extremely suspicious provenance. Released late Nov. 2001, supposedly made early Nov. in Kandahar, found mid-Nov. in Jalalabad. Would have had to be transported from one to the other at a time when both cities were under siege by U.S. coalition and Northern Alliance forces.

"Osama" in this tape is fatter and darker-skinned, with a longer nose than other "Osamas" in other tapes.

Poor video and audio.

Faulty translation, by State Dept. Unclear whether he is talking about "they" or "us" who did it. Many "inaudibles" filled in by translators with items other Arab speakers claim not to hear (such as, supposedly, the names of "hijackers.")

German TV team (ARD) hired translators to get their own transcript. 30 hours into their work, they called the American translator and said they had some questions to ask. The Americans replied, "You've been at this for thirty hours? We were only given ten!"

Even taken at face value: Fat Osama said he had been informed about the date of the attacks five days before 9/11. This is the mastermind?

If this tape is a smoking gun, then only for the theory that by then, with the Official Conspiracy Theory of 9/11 already having fallen apart, someone felt compelled to produce evidence of Osama's guilt.

Subsequent confession tapes by "hijackers" obviously remastered, with images of the actual attack in the background.

"Osama" has history of "confessing" to any action he approves. For example, taking credit for the downing of helicopters in the 1993 Battle of Mogadishu, which began when the U.S. forces staged a surprise raid on the city to capture a warlord and encountered unexpected resistance.

Idiotic to trust in any of these videos. Completely worthless as evidence.

I'm more interested in his stay for kidney treatments at the American Hospital Dubai, July 4-14, 2001, when he was visited by the CIA station chief, according to French media.
