People who are fearful of death need the mythology that affords them "life after death"

This is the only reason, in my estimation, that Christianity has survived. People just cannot face the fact that they will, one day, be no more. Be a nothing. a NO Thing.

They will be like the flower that has lived it's course and died or the pet that has died or any other thing in this universe that has died. -- and that is unacceptable in their present state of survival mind.

So, we find a religion that assures us that we live forever.

Yipee -- sign me up.

and so humans subscribe and also subscribe to all the abuses and all the evil that has been comitted by and under the tenets of that religion in order that they may be confident in the belief that they will not die but will live on forever after carnal death. They will defend this belief to their death , even if it means abusing and hating others, knowing , as the mythology goes, they will not die at all if they will only follow the rules.

There is absolutely no evidence that this is so.
