Was an open-minded Republican who liked to poke at my very Democratic sister.
He never had any tolerance for the fundies or the racists, at all. He was essentially a "Hank Hill" good-guy Republican who felt conservative, insofar as he wasn't into any of that hippie mumbo jumbo stuff.
He recently changed from Independent to Democrat, and hates Bush. He thinks he's a moron, a nut who dragged us to war, and has total contempt for the guy.
He was in the first Gulf War, and thought the second one was total madness. He refers to Bush as a stupid nutjob, and will vote for the nominee. He prefers Edwards, which makes sense considering he's in NC, and still has a few conservative impurities that haven't yet been purged :)
