After a few years of total despondency about the way this country was going, out of the woodworks a real social movements springs up as if out of nowhere.

A foreshadowing in Vermont, a while back.

A wise Mass Supreme Court, and a few good filibustering Mass legislators.

A San Francisco mayor, once smeared by the enemy guttersnipe Green Party, handing out marriage certificates like candy.

The GOPers scrambling for a response, and looking ridiculous. Democrats starting to get a little courage on the issue.

A few countries (Canada esp, which has actually led the way for us) have more enlightened laws on marriage, but folks: America is in the forefront of a progressive social revolution for human equality and dignity.

One more time: America is in the forefront of a progressive social revolution for human equality and dignity.

Other countries will play catch-up to an positive American social change. Call me jingo, but I'm rather proud of this.

ON EDIT: Another thing. A resurgence of grassroots Democracy, (self)organized on the Net. In fits and starts, and is far larger than Dean or Clark, but it's a coming. Again, Korea led the way last election, but watch the changes here change the UK and Western Europe.
