According to the orders issued during this period, Bush's reporting stations for this period is as follows: Bush's request of a temporary assignment to 9921st in Montegomery, AL on 25May72 was denied on 31May72; therefore, Bush was to continue reporting to 111th FIS at Ellington Air Force Base in Texas until new reporting orders were issued. Bush requested a temporary assignment to the 187th TRS on 5Sep72 and was granted the assignment for Oct72 and Nov72; therefore, Bush was to report to the 187th for those months only. Bush's reporting to the 111th FIS was to begin immediately in Dec72.
Also in the orders was that the flight requirements were in effect for his AFSC; therefore, by not flying, he was not fulfilling his guard duty requirements. There are no orders assigning Bush a new AFSC.
The fact that Bush got an honorable discharge is an affront to all who served honorably, either as regulars or as national guardsmen.
