15. Didn't Dadcom predict the CIA...
Edited on Mon Feb-23-04 10:27 PM by Imajika
...was pissed at Bush and was gonna go after him?

You know, the theory that the CIA would be the unlikely hero and show themselves as true patriots and bring Bush down?

Sorry, I don't buy it. It hasn't happened yet, and I'm betting it never will.

I don't think the CIA is after Bush, infact I suspect that the vast majority of the CIA will support Bush. The bottom line, the intelligence communities know Republicans will throw money at them whether they really need it or not. These guys are not gonna bite the hand that feeds.

Further, I think it is absolute nonsense to predict a landslide. Predicting something so far in advance in politics is silly. A week is nearly a lifetime in politics, 8 months is practically an eternity.

Many people, including myself and much of the media conventional wisdom had Dean winning the Democratic nomination. Dean imploded. Kerry, who had little to no support on DU and was scores of points down in NH and elsewhere now appears to be cruising towards the nomination and suddenly appears to be a strong opponent for Bush.

The only problem with that is we don't really know if he would have any real popularity amongst the American general public once they get to know him (not just the Massachusetts public). Kerry has a long record of votes and policy positions that are left of where much of the country is. Can he overcome this? Possibly yes. Will he overcome it? Who knows. But if he doesn't and is painted as a northeastern, anti-war, anti-defense spending liberal he could lose badly, and it could be the Democratic party losing in a landslide.

Nixon was hated by many and generally disliked by perhaps the majority, but he still won easily in a landslide decision in 72'. Predictions of landslides now are useless, and Dadcom's track record doesn't impress me so far.
