5. Economically...
it's one hell of a negative.

Politically, though, I dare you to find 10 people by Monday who know what "current account balance" means or why it is important. Extra credit for finding just one person who knows how foreign investment balances with trade.

You can run on "jobs to Mexico" but you can't run on trade deficit, even though they are two sides of the same coin.

On the other hand, the trade at any cost types happily say that outsourcing is a good thing, because anyone left working can buy stuff cheaper.
